A few of years ago, some personal issues brought me to my knees and I spent some time in some dark places. While I was there, I learned some things: I learned that it didn't matter what had happened to me, I was still me AND that I could still love myself. Since then I have been exploring ways to do just that. I've always needed to be creative, and I discovered creativity was a great outlet for dealing with everything I was feeling inside.....it helped to put it out there on paper so it wasn't just percolating around inside. I also found that by being open to what my creativity wanted to say, I was actually listening to my inner voice and expressing what it needed. That was a serious AHA WOW! moment! While I am exploring that experience within myself, I am beginning to share it with others and show them that they too can find and hold their own light. You might want to read the SHINE poem on the home page now if you haven't, because it explains just that.
